GRAB YOUR HEELS & WALK A MILE

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Walk a Mile in Her Shoes?

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is an annual march for our non-profit agency Voice of Hope: Rape Crisis Center. Efforts are to raise funds and awareness about the issues of sexual assault/sex trafficking. The march is a one-mile walk and participants can, if they chose, don 4 inch high stilettos to speak out against sexual violence.

Is the march for Men only?

Absolutely not!! BOTH Men & Women are more than welcomed and encouraged to register for the march. Kids march for free.

Do I have to wear stilettos to march?

No, but it fun for us to watch you walk in them!! You can wear your own shoes or our shoes, or no shoes…just as long as you show up and strut your stuff.

Where do we get the stilettos if I'm a man?

Voice of Hope will “loan” you the shoes if you chose to wear them. Our stilettos are specially designed for Men. We have men’s sizes ranging from 8 to 17. Or…anyone can bring their own stilettos.

What will the money raised at this event be used for?

ALL SERVICES PROVIDED TO VICTIMS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT/SEX TRAFFICKING AND THEIR NON-OFFENDING LOVED ONES ARE FREE!!

Your $35 registration can provide two (2) personal care packages given to sexual assault victims seen in the emergency rooms and undergarments for sexual assault victims who have to surrender theirs for evidence.

Pledges raised can help cover the cost of:

  • supplies for equine therapy for a sex trafficked victim,
  • art therapy supplies for a sexual assault victim,
  • sexual assault primary prevention curriculums,
  • supplies for the Sex Trafficking Allied Response Team
  • training costs for staff, law enforcement, and community awareness
